a quiet change coming

Yesterday the grassy meadow was green and yellow, the early autumn afternoon light playing there in shimmering patches. Ah, I should give it its last cut for the season, I thought.

But other chores came to mind, like the nearby new bed of iris. Planting out the latest rhizomes in what I thought would be a simple oval, I stepped back to discover I had weeded out an almost complete heart shape. Well, that’s what is supposed to be here, I guess, and with a little more tidying up, so it became.

This morning appeared as a dreary day, promising and then delivering a soft drizzle of warm rain. I glanced out a window at that particular meadow—and stopped in my tracks. A billowing sea of rose pink sprays now filled the view—soft, gentle, flowing around all the other structures and plants.

Overnight the land had transformed. Not by harsh winds or a cold snap; the night had been mild. The quiet result was not the brilliant reds or fiery oranges that would come later.

No, it was simply time to reveal the rose light of Unconditional Love that abides in the land, like the almost imperceptible yet steady change that is manifesting on Earth now. Heralding not only a season, but giving a glimpse into the process of transformation of the planet and its people over the decade ahead.

We are confronted so often now with news and images of the desperate, sometimes turbulent reaction to change. But this was a vision of subtle renewal that grabs at the heart while bestowing peace and sweet hope.
