vows and contracts: hidden sources of unhappiness

It is common for people to swear to do something, or vow unending loyalty or bitter revenge, laying in consequences whether or not they understand what they risk.

For example, many who had past lives in a druidic culture routinely made eternal pledges, usually to perform a service, and in the process staking their souls as guarantee.

Such contracts between people extend over time and also can affect family lineage. Then they are trapped in a repeating cycle, encountering the same personae and/or situations time and time again—throughout this life or across lifetimes.

Careful utilization of various NRT techniques during a session can reveal these vows, usually completely hidden from present-day awareness yet causing much emotional and even physical suffering.

For decades since her early adulthood a woman had debilitating pain in all of her joints, which she ascribed to her genes; her mother—and her mother and grandmother—all suffered the same affliction, striking earlier and more severely each generation. Although depressed by this situation, she was determined she would not end up crippled by deformities.

In an NRT session to address her pain, she went to a past life as a man who was a village leader captured and tortured by opposing military to the point of passing out. He awoke to find his arms and legs broken in many places. In deep despair he realized that all outcomes were terrible: whether or not he had revealed information, most of those men had departed to attack the people under his care. He focused his pain, rage, and inability to move on the two guards who were left behind, cursing them and vowing that someday they should suffer the same torture as he had.

But such vows and curses always rebound: in the present lifetime, it was he who was suffering with pain in all his limbs. When the special NRT technique of Inner Plane Communication was used next, he became aware of the true nature of the two guards—men not unlike himself—and was able to be freed from the bonds of his vengeful vow. Then Divine healing was also brought in, and in the weeks following the session the woman experienced much less depression and pain.

It is important to note in this example that there was healing in both physical and emotional areas. Deeply affected by the revelations in this session, the woman underwent a transformation and began to pay more attention to the ways in which how she managed her feelings could affect others.

Our vast network of connectivity to one another is more vibrant and malleable that we may realize. Even as our true existence is timeless, a cruel or thoughtless word lingers, as do acts of kindness and care. Yet even promises that are well-intentioned at the time can set up a cascade of entanglements that will cry for healing later on. Calling on the Light of the Divine with its unconditional Love is a sure benefit to our path of healing and growth.
