nothing to fear

It turns out that a lot of folks initially approach The New Regression Therapy (NRT) in an anxious way. There are worries that they will “go under”—as with anaesthesia or the worst TV show about hypnosis. There is a fear of the unknown, as though terrible things might emerge and they will be left all on their own to experience them. And finally, there are worries that they “can’t do it.”

So what can you expect?

Well, first of all, it is “none of the above.”

You’ll always be aware

Probably the biggest stumbling block is an association with myths about hypnosis, especially the way that technique is portrayed as a gimmick in shows and movies where a person is supposedly forced to do embarrassing things. In NRT, however, no one does anything against their will or wishes. A person is helped to achieve just a light state of relaxation, and they will always be awake and aware of what is happening, so that they can participate in their own healing process.

The purpose of such relaxation is aligned with the purpose of NRT: to quickly reach a person’s subconscious, bypassing the conscious blocks, repressions, and defense mechanisms that serve to hide from awareness the more important connections and aspects of an issue that is brought for healing.

For our subconscious is a storehouse of all of the details of our life experiences and relationships, accessed through emotions, key words, and the bodily memories that encode them. Going quickly to this area with the tools of healing provides significant changes in awareness.

You are not alone

Sometimes a person fears they will be forced to face something that they are not ready to encounter. That is a legitimate worry, a scary prospect, but that is not what this therapy is about. What is brought forth at any given time is the individual experience that is ready to be healed then—nothing forced, and with protections in place to handle states of anxiety or fearfulness. You are never left stranded and on your own.

You can do it

Probably because there is no similar experience in our upbringing, as well as fear-based worries about performance, people are sometimes afraid they won’t know what to do. This is an easy one, as there is nothing to do but be present. When doubts or fears about the process emerge, you’ll be helped to put those aside and return to what is emerging for you.

It is your experience

When we refer to healing with Higher Resources, we are talking about the Unconditional Love and Light of the Divine that is brought into the session as moments of trauma, or feelings and beliefs that no longer serve one’s purpose, present themselves.

NRT is a very experiential process. But it is your experience, and no one else’s. What your subconscious brings up for healing will vary not only from person to person, but also from session to session—often a surprise, and always relevant and meaningful.
